Our strength continues to be our highly qualified long serving staff; engineers with a talent for lateral and creative thinking, whose individual skills combine to form close-knit teams which are inventive and fruitful in their output.

We are fortunate to be able to attract some of the best engineers, and we find that once here most like to stay because of the challenges and the working environment which we enjoy.  Our engineers contribute significantly to projects from day one, and learn to adapt to apply their skills confidently to a variety of problems.

We place a strong emphasis on staff recruitment, and we look for those who are motivated and seek enjoyment and excitement not only from the engineering challenges but also from their interests outside the office. Training is provided to all staff both through flexible on-the-job learning and also through structured training under agreement for those seeking qualifications through the professional engineering institutions.

The Directors retain a close hands-on involvement in all project work, working closely with individuals and project teams to ensure best possible outcomes for our clients. Ian Firth and David MacKenzie are widely recognised and highly respected leaders in the profession, and their complementary skills and experience ensure that we continue to be able to provide the specialist engineering consultancy advice for which we are well known.

The diversity in the firm’s experience is well reflected in that of the Associates, each of whom is widely recognized in his own field for his particular expertise and for his contribution to the firm’s collective ability.

The previous senior partners, Tony Flint, Brian Smith and John Evans are now Consultants to the practice.  They are held in high esteem by the engineering profession worldwide, and their considerable influence helped to shape the firm’s current direction. They remain committed to providing their expertise and experience to our clients and to members of staff as and when required.
